AKC papers are available. He is up to date with routine shots, is already house trained, and has been altered. Tanner is in the Porland area. Get your applications in. The Year of the Smooths Continues for a Repeat Performance! Rudy and Sabyl, the 4 and half year-old *smooth* collies are also in Salem. Rudy is a blue merle and Sabyl is a light fawn-colored sable. They are reported to be smart and sweet as most collies are. We are in the process of evaluating them and more details will be forthcoming. Smooths have the pleasant personalities and intelligence of rough collies but a short and silky coat, much much easier to maintain. Visit Petfinder.com for photos and updates:
Molly is a darling and sweet sable collie. She came to us since her former owner, an animal collector who has been prosecuted, cannot own her any more and the foster home found for her during the court case did not want to keep her anymore due to the cost of her medical treatment. They, fortunately, contacted us as alternative to euthanizing her and let us take her. She has suffered from much neglect, had to have surgery as a result of the neglect, but is now healthy and has settled in well in her foster home. In spite of all her trials she is sweet and darling and just wants to be loved in her forever home. She is petite and pretty and is 8 years old. She is wonderful with children and other animals. She let kittens sleep on her in her former foster home. Good news! Molly's urine leakage is now slight and well controlled and confined to her bed. Her foster mother changes her blanket on her dog bed every day and otherwise Molly is as healthy and as easy as can be. She is very affectionate and needs a home where she receives lots of attention. She adores children. Her coat is not as thick as some collie coats and is therefore easy to maintain. Being petite she also eats less! Will you be the person who will give Molly the forever home she deserves? Send your US Mail address thru e-mail to collie@westbynorthwest.org for application. Max is a lovable male rough collie. He is neutered and around 7 years old. He currently has several hot spots and was slowed down and very depressed so his foster mother has been working with him to cure his hot spots and get him perked up before he is adopted again. The special needs designation only refers to his current problems. Once these are resolved we wll remove it. I will work to get a photo of him posted soon as well as news of his recovery. GOOD NEWS! Max is improving rapidly. His coat, which was shaved is growing back in and he is on thyroid medication and is responding well on it. He will be ready for adoption soon. His foster mother says he is so lovable and sweet if he stays too long she may not be able to let him go. Send your US Mail address thru e-mail to collie@westbynorthwest.org for application. Sasha is an adorable smooth sable collie. She is 3 years old, adores other dogs and is very affectionate with children and adults. She has taken obedience, agility, and rally. Sasha has a lovable collie temperment with out the long fur! She will be happy to keep you and your family company for food, love, and the occasional toss of a frisbee to retrieve. Photos of this cutie are coming soon! Send your US Mail address thru e-mail to collie@westbynorthwest.org for application. Elvis Is Adopted! McCollie IS Adopted!
McCollie is a neutered male, sable, rough-coated darling. This handsome "teenager" of a boy (14 mo. old) loves to run and hike. He is responsive and able to run or walk well on a lead. He is mellow, relaxed and friendly with people and animals. He tolerates cats well. We wish McCollie and his new family well! Lincoln is adopted! Father of Elvis and Fred Astaire, he is happy being the chief boy with a couple of friendly female dogs. Fred Astaire is adopted! A blue merle, son of Lincoln, brother of Elvis. This handsome, well-socialized laddie has found the right human dance in the rain.
On July 3 a little collie wandered out of the coastal forest near Tillamook. She was rescued and brought to Linda Parks of the rescue group Stray Dogs of Tillamook County. Princess is now forty pounds, almost close to her normal weight because she is a petite collie. She is sable and white and charming. Princess is deaf in the lower ranges but responds well to whistles and high pitched communication. Her "problem" was that she is much older than the average rescue dog and may have only a couple of good years left. Thanks to Oregon Senior Dog Rescue.
Laird Pippinis a corker! This darling 9 months or so puppy is adopted! He is very smart, sweet, huggable, and social with humans and dogs.
Taz is a 7 year old smooth, sable Collie. He found the right human to play with thanks to Mike Love.
Bailey is a smooth sable, three year-old energetic male. He was brought to us because his beloved owner was killed tragically in an auto accident. He is AKC registered and gets along well with other animals and children. Bailey was looking for a family with room to play and romp and be adored for the big teddy bear that he is. Smokey the darling tri-color, smooth boy was adopted. Found Lassie (formerly Lost Lassie) was adopted by her foster home, becoming a special resident dog because she has special care needs. Misty (8 years old) who never even made it to the web page before she was adopted has found a wonderful home up the Columbia Gorge. Bessie Beauty is now the beloved companion of three happy people and two other canine companions who love to take daily walks with her to the dog park. Minnie has grown in wisdom and now helps keep an eye on the sheep and alpacas without oral intervention! She has earned her right to stay on the farm. | ||||||||||||||||||||||
