Yesterday, February 1, David Freeman began a 225 mile six week wilderness trip with his dog, Tundra, across the northern Minnesota/Canadian border. School classes across the country are joining in the trip via website and global cell phone. The purpose of the trip is to promote an understanding of the wilderness and the importance of perserving this unique environment.
Classrooms can participate in scientific projects (centered around measurements of beaver dams, animal tracks, etc.) conducted during the trip and pose questions to David via e-mail.
