Pendle Hill will host a major Peace Convocation entitled

Building Peace In The 21St Century: New Responses To New Forms Of War

May 3-5, 2002

Arch Street Meeting House, Philadelphia

The convocation is sponsored by the Pendle Hill Religion and Social Issues Forum. Since October, the Pendle Hill Forum has focused its Monday night lectures on the critical issues we each face as we determine our response to war. The convocation culminates our 20-week lecture series by bringing together concerned individuals to help plant the seeds of a renewed movement of peace witness.

Featured speakers include:

  • Randall Caroline Forsberg, Institute for Defense and Disarmament Studies
  • Paula Green, Karuna Center for Peacebuilding
  • Joseph Gerson, American Friends Service Committee, New England
  • John Dear, Fellowship of Reconciliation.

The event will also include panelists from Bosnia, Rwanda, Iraq, and other countries, and planning in small work groups. For more information see
